WEBCARDLX supports IPv4 and IPv6 management with HTTPS, SSH and SNMPv3, while EnviroSense2 adds environmental sensing to supported installations. Equipment record: Eaton Tripp Lite Series WEBCARDLX, companion identifier EnviroSense2. Decision: Migrate to WEBCARDLX only after host compatibility, firmware, approved encrypted services, EnviroSense2 detection and tested trap delivery are recorded.

Card migration is a network change

Replacing a legacy card changes credentials, address configuration, protocol exposure, management software and sensor behaviour. A configuration export from the old card is treated as reference data, not automatically restored into a different platform.

For Eaton Tripp Lite Series WEBCARDLX, the applicability boundary is anchored to 2 IP versions, 3 SNMP version and part EnviroSense2. The 5 worked inputs remain assumptions until they are recorded at the equipment.

Address, protocol and sensor record

The controlling numerical record is: IPv4 and IPv6 support: 2 IP versions; SNMPv3 target: 3 SNMP version; Worked initial protocol set: 6 candidate services; Worked approved HTTPS, SSH and SNMPv3 set: 3 enabled services; Worked poll interval: 30 s; Worked EnviroSense2 threshold reference: 25 degrees C; Worked EnviroSense2 channels: 2 sensor channels. Each value has a defined source or assumption status in the engineering ledger. Values from different configurations are not combined as though they came from one installed system.

Engineering parameter Value Evidence status
IPv4 and IPv6 support 2 IP versions Published OEM value
SNMPv3 target 3 SNMP version Published OEM value
Worked initial protocol set 6 candidate services Worked design assumption
Worked approved HTTPS, SSH and SNMPv3 set 3 enabled services Worked design assumption
Worked poll interval 30 s Worked design assumption
Worked EnviroSense2 threshold reference 25 degrees C Worked design assumption
Worked EnviroSense2 channels 2 sensor channels Worked design assumption

The worked hardening profile reduces six candidate network services to three approved encrypted or authenticated services, a 50 percent reduction in enabled service count. The actual service list depends on firmware and site policy.

Reducing six candidate services to three

The worked check uses service reduction = (6 – 3) / 6 x 100. With six candidate services and three approved services, the result is 50% fewer enabled services. The saved WEBCARDLX configuration must demonstrate the actual enabled set. The arithmetic is reproducible, but it remains a design check until the listed inputs are confirmed at the equipment.

The 50% fewer enabled services result follows from service reduction = (6 – 3) / 6 x 100. If the 6 candidate services input changes, this check is repeated rather than carrying the earlier result into a different operating state.

Host compatibility before hardening

The compatibility check records UPS host, card hardware, firmware and supported management application. Network settings are staged in an isolated segment before production connection.

Commissioning verifies HTTPS certificate handling, SSH administration, SNMPv3 reads, time synchronization, trap delivery and both worked EnviroSense2 channels. Rollback retains the old card configuration and a defined restoration path.

Path Technical consequence Disposition
Apply the stated engineering decision Migrate to WEBCARDLX only after host compatibility, firmware, approved encrypted services, EnviroSense2 detection and tested trap delivery are recorded. Selected basis
Generic model substitution Select by family name or rating alone, without confirming the exact configuration. Not selected on the stated evidence
Unverified operating assumption Treat a design assumption as though it were a site measurement. Reconsider only if the input changes

The Eaton Tripp Lite Series WEBCARDLX decision retains part EnviroSense2, the 50% fewer enabled services calculation result and the manufacturer-published 2 IP versions point in one equipment record. Applicable OEM instructions, qualified electrical authority and the installed single-line or wiring record remain controlling for any executable work.

Trap and sensor commissioning

Acceptance of Eaton Tripp Lite Series WEBCARDLX depends on five recorded checks:

  • Confirm the UPS host is supported by WEBCARDLX and record firmware.
  • Stage IPv4 or IPv6 addressing in an isolated management segment.
  • Enable only the approved HTTPS, SSH and SNMPv3 service set.
  • Detect EnviroSense2 channels and test thresholds and trap delivery.
  • Prove configuration backup and rollback before retiring the legacy card.

The Eaton Tripp Lite Series WEBCARDLX record is not accepted if part EnviroSense2 does not match, the calculation does not reproduce 50% fewer enabled services, or the final operating state is not recorded. The equipment returns to the approved safe state when a check stops, and the unresolved condition remains open without an invented repair result.

The old card leaves only after rollback is proven

The migration passes when the exact host recognizes WEBCARDLX, the installed service set matches policy and EnviroSense2 events reach the owned destination. Physical fit or a successful ping is insufficient.

Decision rule: Migrate to WEBCARDLX only after host compatibility, firmware, approved encrypted services, EnviroSense2 detection and tested trap delivery are recorded. A different model, load, voltage, battery string, software version or operating state requires a new check against the applicable manufacturer record.
